Hey everyone, Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my website. As you likely already know, my name is E.J. Vasko. I grew up in a small suburb near Cleveland, Ohio. I started my film/video career at a young age making skate videos for fun with my friends. After realizing that kids would actually pay for them, I decided that making films/videos was going to be my future. I then spent the next few years going to school and working in the graphic communications industry. After graduation I worked as a manager at a sign shop as well as doing freelance graphic design and screen-printing. I started a small skateboard company during that time, where I pressed my own designs on clothing and skateboards, then sold them to local shops and out of the trunk of my car. I then decided that I wanted to continue my education and moved to Columbus, Ohio to go to school for Interactive Media. After a short time, my entire savings was spent on school and living expenses, which forced me to leave. I spent the next few months living as a vagrant before moving back to Cleveland. Just days after moving back, I started working for a large chain of sign shops as the head of the design department. Although I enjoyed working there, I knew that film/video was my true passion. I finished out my contract with them, and then moved to Denver, Colorado (where I currently reside) to attend school at The Art Institute of Colorado. Working as a freelance graphic designer, sign maker and videographer, I made my way through college and graduated in 2007 with a degree in Video Production. I was awarded “Portfolio Par Excellence” at graduation for my piece “Oily Marks”. Currently, I work as a freelance videographer and graphic designer. I also work on independent films, including my own, doing jobs ranging from “P.A” to “Director”. I’m very comfortable taking direction as well as giving it.
